This past fall was sad for many beekeepers, us included.  The wasp season was intense and prolonged.  Eventually, two of our hives were overcome and we entered the winter with one hive that we thought was still quite strong.  However, the mild start to the winter favoured the wasps and the last, meadow hive, succumbed as well.  It was a sad moment.

We’ve decided to take this season off as there’s just a bit too much on the go.  We certainly miss the hives and the amazing nature of bees…and I’m trying to be patient until the next season.

Someday I’ll post a bunch on honey extracting experiences that we’ve enjoyed over the years.  It’s amazing how quickly time passes!
